Week 2 - Spiritual World

Hey everyone this week I will be sharing with you the reality of the spiritual world, or what you could call the spiritual universe, because of how it visually covers across all existence.

There are a minority of people in the world,  who have claimed and proven spiritual vision.

There have been those throughout history who have had spiritual visions and dreams.

Visions and dreams however  are just a moment in time, spiritual vision on the other hand is an ever-present ability to see into the constantly present supernatural world.

People ask me, what do you see in the 'spiritual world'....?
Many thing too numerous to count  but on a constant basis it looks like a universe full of  shiny stars constantly moving, that regularly link up together to form images.

Interesting enough is that in our known universe, many different civilizations have used the stars in the sky to navigate, it provides a proven sense of bearing and direction.

The Polynesians who migrated to New Zealand used the stars by night to navigate their way from Asia-pacific to New Zealand.

In the Bible the story of Jesus' birth describe three wise men who travelled from the far east, who followed a bright star.
According to their understanding the star was a sign that a Savior had been born and that the star indicated the spot where the Savior would be born.

Spiritual vision is a spiritual gift which is distributed by the holy spirit, a gift bestowed not because of merit.

However this gift is only bestowed to those who have accepted Jesus Christ into their life.

4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.
There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,

to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a] and to still another the interpretation of tongues.[b]
11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines. 1 Corinthians 12:4-11

Although this is a gift not mentioned by the author of Corinthians (Apostle Paul), spiritual vision is a gift that is to some degree, present in those who receive visions and dreams from God.

Most significant figures in the Old testament and New testament, are people who have received a vision or dream from God.

Paul who was originally called Saul became a follow of Jesus, when he saw a vision of Jesus, in which Jesus asked him, Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?
In which he was referring to the suffering of Jesus' believers at the hand of Saul.

Joseph in the book of Genesis, had a dream in which his older brothers would submit to him and he would have power over them.

He said to them, “Listen to this dream I had: We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it.”

His brothers said to him, “Do you intend to reign over us? Will you actually rule us?” And they hated him all the more because of his dream and what he had said.
Then he had another dream, and he told it to his brothers. “Listen,” he said, “I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”
10 When he told his father as well as his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, “What is this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you?”

Despite their doubt this all came true, years later when Joseph became the governor to the king of Egypt. Genesis 42 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis%2042&version=NIV

Line of sight for a person with spiritual vision is blocked  when they become focused or distracted on the matters and concerns of this life.

Although once time has been put aside to slow down and reflect on spiritual things, this vision is turned back on, because it takes a conscious mind of focused thought for spiritual vision to occur.

There is always two sides in any context, good and evil.

In the spiritual world, there is the good side is God, Jesus, the holy spirit, and the army of angels, also known as servants of the most high.

The evil side is Satan's, a fallen angel who once was God's right hand angel, who also had the position of music leader.

He however became jealous and wanted God's honour, so God sent him away and down into the 'pits' and with him went every other angel who rebelled, they became known as 'demons'.

People ask , what reoccurring themes or objects do you see in the 'spiritual world'....?

Some mention seeing Jesus, others mention seeing angels of several descriptions big and small.
On other occasions there are visions of animals, and natural powers i.e tornados.

Spiritual warfare is one context that is mentioned reguarly, which is seeing God's angels fight Satan's demons.

God's angels are helped in overcoming  battles when people pray, praying makes the winning side swing to the angels.

Some argue that the battle is already won, yes it is but we still face trials and tribulations and will do until we die or when Jesus returns.

There may be those of you out there that say this isn't biblical, well I can show you an example of a real battle that took place in the Old testament.

Exodus 17:11 - "As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning".

Moses was the leader of God's people (The Israelites) such power was appointed to Moses by God that just by holding up his hands the Israelites could win against the Amalekites.

In a similar fashion when Christians pray it is like they are holding up their hands.
Prayer helps the angels win, however when prayer is not done, the winning side swings the other way.

Week 1 - Understand who you are within

Hey web surfers I'm doing a series on spirituality, in this first week I will introduce what spirituality is, and our identity through spirit.

Everyone has a soul/spirit, even those who do not believe in spirituality.
Even those seen as too cruel to have a soul,

every human that has ever lived has one.

I will be using biblical insights and wisdom to guide this series, understand however these spiritual concepts can be universal i.e. applicable to everyone.

All I ask is that you keep an open mind and an open heart, while going through this journey of discovering spiritual identity.

To first find your spiritual identity, you need to be aware of the creator of your soul and the creator's thoughts about you.

In Psalm 139:16
"Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be". http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%20139:16&version=NIV

This states that the creator of all souls knows each person intimately even before they are born.
This verse is from the old testament found in the bible or the Talmud.

Now some theorists suggest that such books are subjective and speculative,

however in the Old testament there is evidence that suggest that God knows who people are before they are born.

Daniel 8:5-6 – “And as I was considering, behold, a he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth,
and touched not the ground:
and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.”

This prophecy is referring to the overthrow of the Persian empire by the Grecian state,
the coming of Alexander the Great.

The goat is Greece, and the one horn depicted is the ascendance of a single and supreme sovereign state, Alexander's rule.
In this vision Persia is depicted as a ram, being knocked over by the goat (Grecian state - Hero Alexander).

According to the Jewish calendar, it was only two hundred years after the vision that the battle of Gaugamela http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/alexander.htm
took place,

a battle Daniel had foreseen while he was in his vision looking over the River U’lai.
This vision had Daniel travel through time and space.

Susa would be the captial of the future Persian empire, however Daniel was at the time a servant to the king of Babylon, "In the third year of the reign of Belshazzar the king". Daniel 8:1

Daniel 8:2 "And I looked in the vision, and it came about while I was looking, that I was in the citadel of Susa, which is in the province of Elam; and I looked in the vision, and I myself was beside the Ulai Canal". http://bible.org/seriespage/ram-goat-and-horn-daniel-81-27

This Greek and the Persian battle was between leaders Alexander the Great and the Persian ruler, Darius II Nothus.

In this battle, the great Persian Empire collapsed in 317 BCE,

according to the Jewish calendar.

Daniel was a wise, knowledgeable, God fearing man, who was given several visions.

These visions mentioned in his book from the Old testament all indicate to a God that is all knowing, all powerful  and who uses angels as intermediaries/messengers.

God knew Alexander the Great before his conception, he knew he would be a man of immense energy and drive, who single handily lead the destruction of the Persian empire.

Daniel saw the vision but he could not understand it, so an angel interpreted it for him.
Angels are not like humans they are sent by God to be helpers, to bring comfort ,clarity and direction.
Alexander's identity was formed before he was born, have you ever wondered about your identity?

Alexander consciously made a choice, if he didn't go to war against Persia, someone else would have been chosen to lead the conquest.
We all have a choice to make, Alexander made his mark, will you make yours?
